OUR PURPOSE:

To implement one of SC Tokyo’s 6 Material Issues for Sustainability: Developing Human Resources and Promoting Diversity

To drive corporate cultural change by creating an environment and opportunities that encourage diversity and inclusion

GOALS:

1) Support ESG Action:

  • Establish CSR programs that promote D&I and the SC 6 Key Social Issues in ESG Management
  • Support SC Japan’s Sustainability Department in promotion of Human Rights Policy and conflict minerals data collection
  • Incorporate suppliers and subsidiaries into SCOA’s promotion of D&I mission

2) Develop People:

  • Establish new employee engagement programs that support the promotion of the CIBs: Corp Comm workshop series, guest speaker series (i.e. black history month, women’s history month)
  • Reestablish and facilitate meetings of SCOA D&I Champions and Core Council and support South America and Mexico D&I Councils
  • Relaunch an updated and redesigned D&I website for SC Americas
  • Partner with SC Tokyo’s HR and D&I teams to develop a SC global D&I Vision and Strategy and assist with facilitating a global D&I team meeting.
  • Initiate D&I activities to support SCOA HR policies and SC HR global policy: incorporate CIBs into leadership and management trainings, performance review forms.
  • Start building the foundation and setting the KPIs for measuring D&I success and ESG reporting:
    • Performance review forms
    • Mandatory Unconscious Bias training
    • Collaborate with HR on recruiting and talent management KPIs to enhance diversity targets
    • Partner with subsidiaries on D&I programs and promote their success stories
